Dahlia Milon Textile is an artisanal textile maker specializing in vegetable dyeing as well as a gardener who grows dye plants. In the preparation of her dyes, they mainly use plants from their dye plant garden as well as from the harvest of wild plants from Kamouraska area where their studio is located.
Her intention with this botanical print set is to introduce people to the pleasures of vegetable dyeing and at the same time provide them with an encounter with nature, flowers and their creativity.
The kit includes:
- an illustrated explanatory booklet
- A link to an explanatory video
- A 11" x 60" silk scarf already mordanted (ready to dye)
- 5 dye plants grown in Kamouraska
- String and parchment paper
- Iron sulfate to modify colours
